Conflict

Some researchers do not believe Joseph Walker, mentioned in the will of Charles Kilgore of Greene County, Tennessee married Elizabeth Kilgore, his possible daughter. A 1797 marriage record exists showing a Joseph Walker marrying an "Elizabeth Black" on 26 Aug. 1797 in Greene Co., TN [Tennessee, U.S., Marriage Records, 1780-2002], with the additional name "Kilgore" written afterwards, which appears to support Joseph Walker as the spouse of Elizabeth. Joseph's wife, the daughter of Charles Kilgore had died prior to the writing of his will in June 1822, but what happened to Joseph Walker afterwards is a matter of speculation and needs further research/sources.
