    In the name of God, Amen, the 16th day of December 1770, I Joseph Stone of the Parish of Cople and County of Westmoreland being in a low state of health but of a perfect memory do here make my last will and testament in the following manner and form.

    Item give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Stone my land I now live on and Negro man Dick, and five shillings sterling.

    Item I give and bequeath unto my wife Ann Stone, Negro man Old Jack [during] her life and then to return to my other children.

    Item I give and bequeath unto my two children, Presley Stone and the child my wife Ann Stone is with child with, two Negroes, Young Jack and Moll, to be equally divided between them when my son Presley Stone arrives at age. But my will is that my wife have the use of the two negroes till they come of age.

    Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Jemima Neale, Negro boy Natt which I gave her when she was married, and Negro boy Bob.

    Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Penelope Stone, Negro woman Jenny, and further my will and desire that my wife and other children give her out of their parts two pounds apiece paid to her when she is at age.

    Item That my two tracts of leased land be sold for the use of my wife and children and what of my estate not mentioned be equally divided amongst them all.

    Lastly, I appoint my wife Ann Stone, Thomas Stone and Rodham Neale to be my executors.
    As witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal in the year of our Lord 1770.

    At a court held for Westmoreland County the 26th day of November 1771 this will was produced in pursuance of a former order of this court and being proved by the oaths of Youell Sanford, William Brawner, and James Moore, witnesses thereto is ordered to be recorded; and on the motion of Rodham Neale one of the executors therein named who made oath thereto according to law and together with James Muse and Thomas Stone his securities entered into and acknowledged bond with condition as the law directs, certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form. Previous to which, Ann Stone, the widow and executrix in the said will named, personally appeared and renounced all benefit and advantage claim under the said will. Teste
