FALLS FROM CAR BREAKS HIS NECK
Ronan, March 10--Toppled to the ground from the flatcar on which he was riding at College camp near here, by a projecting log, the body of Henry J. Roberts, scaler and brakeman in the Polley's camp, lies in a Poulson morgue with a broken neck.
Roberts, accompanying an empty car into camp, was standing near the edge of the conveyance holding to a post, when the log was encountered with such force that he was dashed to the ground, lighting on his head. He was picked up by fellow workmen, who witnessed the tragedy and rushed to Poulson.
Mr. Roberts was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Severin Roberts of Frenchtown. His wife, formerly Elsie Hooper of Moiese, reported ill, is staying with her three-year-old daughter at the home of Ed Tiedalu (Piedalue?), a cousin of the dead man. Mr. Roberts was 33 years old and a member of the Modern Woodsmen of America. The accident happened three miles east of Ronan. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
