27 Apr 1758: Petition of Selectmen of Acton: "Whereas there is one Joseph Read who hath been Brought up in Acton in the family of mr. Mark White who is now arrived to the age of twenty one [born about 1737] whom wee the Subscribers Look upon to be Non Compos mentis and the Said Joseph hath made Choise of mr Samuel White to be his Guardian Whom wee Concur with..."
26 Feb 1761: Bond of Samuel white of Acton Cooper to be guardian of Joseph Reed of Acton
21 May 1778 Accounting of estate of Joseph Reed, mentions wife, and expenses for "wives Lying in", clothing for his Children including jacket for his boy and a coat for his girl

21 Nov 1792: no personal estate, about 30 acres in Acton, part improved, part unimproved
1[8?] Mar 1793: Set off widow's thirds to "Sibbel Reed the Said Deceased's Widow"
4 Sep 1793: No personal estate, deemed insolvent, sale of land allowed to pay debts to town of Acton
