Tuscarawas County, Marriage Records, cert. #891, Geo Davis, J.P.Will of Joseph PrestonImpressed with the uncertainty of life and feeling it an incumbent duty to leave some directions for the disposal of my property after my decease,Therefore I Joseph Preston of the County of Carroll in the State of Ohio do make this my last Will and Testament in manner as follows: I first direct that my just debts and funeral expenses be paid. I next give and bequeath to my dear wife Mary Preston the farm on which we reside containing ninety six acres together with all my personal property during her during her widowhood she paying the above mentioned debts and the remainder of my real estate is to be sold by my executors hereinafter named whenever they think it will be advantageous to the heirs and the proceeds divided among them (the heirs) in the following manner: those remaining unmarried to have one hundred dollars and the balance equally divided amongst them and at the death or marriage of my wife the farm bequeathed to her together with what personal property may be left is to be sold by my executors and the proceeds of said sale divided equally between all my heirs or thier legal representatives and when the real property is sold there must be a reserve made of the graveyard with the right of way from the road to it so that it remain in possession of the family as a burying place forever. And latly I appoint my sons Amor Preston and Joseph S. Preston executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all others.
