    Joseph Edwin Pierce, son of the late Deacon Lewis and Eliza Pierce, was born in Collins, Erie county, N. Y., and died in Shevlin [Township], Minnesota, on the 23rd of March, 1903.
    He leaves a wife and three sons and other relatives, to mourn their loss. He was a kind husband, a devoted father, and a dearly beloved brother. M. J. H.
