Obituary in The Helena Independent, 28 Nov 1940: DR. PIEDALUE, PIONEER PHYSICIAN, DIES AT 81 Billings, Nov. 29--(AP)--Dr. Joseph A. Piedalue, 81, beleieved to have been the oldest practicing physician in Montana prior to his retirement in May, 1936, died today in a local hospital of infirmities of age. A resident of Bozeman 40 years, he had been in Billings three months becaue of ill health.

Dr. Pidalue was born Jan 24, 1859, in St. Jean, Quebec, and came to Montana in 1885. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Bozeman, of the Bozeman Elks and a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Charles W. Hancock of Lewiston and a sister, Mrs. Wilmer Hubert of Missoula.

Funeral setrvices are set tentatively for Saturday morning in Bozeman.
