Ruby Driskell reported Jos. died 32 Sep.1894. Dan'l Braucht journal says that Oren's moved to Putnam Co., OH in 1840 -- and that Rebecca (which one-- probably not his mother by first name?) lived at George Fedderhoff's in Armstrong Valley. Journal also says that he worked for Jos. Oren at OH in 1841 (Dan'l was also a blacksmith).

Tolan records say that Jos. Oren was half Irish and half Scotch (Mrs.J Reddin interview told me that Jos.Oren's father was born in Ireland, moved to Scotland, then to USA and that Jos. Oren moved to Hancock Co.,OH between Jul 1839 and Nov.1840. She added that there is much Oren name in history of Findlay, OH.
1850 Census Putnam Co., Blanchard Twsp. show: Jos.Oren, 29 blacksmith b. PA and Mary Ann,34 plus children noted here. Also that census shows Nicodemus Oren, 25, blacksmith b. PA and Kezia, 23. However, there is also in 1860 Census of Middletown Middle, Dauphin, PA pg 851 a Joseph Oren and same record, pg 851 Middletown SW, Dauphin Co. Margaret Oren.

Email from Ida N. Meyer ([email protected]) 14 May 2001 states that Joseph and Mary A. Oren were both born in 1818 and both buried in the large Harman Cemetery of Putnam Co., OH. She located that cemetery as on (new) Rt. 224 East of Ottawa past Gilboa Methodist Church about one mile.and the Cholera Cemeter is located right in Gilboa (both maintained by Blanchard Twp.
