[states that Phebe was granddaughter of Ralph Lewis, an eminent Welsh settler. She was born 2/26/1722. They eventually removed to Christiana Hundred in Delaware and were members of the Wilmington Meeting. Joseph died 11/28/1768 and Phebe died in 1775. They had children Elizabeth, b. 3/7/1742, (married John Yarnall); Edith, b. 12/10/1745, (married Philip Jones); Ellis, born 9/26/1749, (married (1)Jane Mason and (2) Rachel..), and Nathaniel, born 8/20/1760, (married Ann Harlan d/o Joseph & Edith Pyle Harlan). This Nathaniel was an itinerant trader who was murdered for his goods, leaving behind four children. ]
