Children of Benjamin Muzzy and first wife Sarah ---: Joseph [listed after Thomas bp. 1706], m. (1) 24 Mar 1721 Patience Rice, "m. (2) (?) 27 Dec 1753 Mrs. Sarah Pope". Resided at Sudbury.
[Note: listing Joseph last does not appear to represent an estimate of the actual birth order, as it would make Joseph too young to marry in 1721. It is assumed he is born before 1700, and based on the birth of Amos 1699/1700, before that.]

  3.   Source:Ward, Andrew Henshaw. Genealogical History of the Rice Family : Descendants of Deacon Edmund Rice, p. 25, says of Joseph Muzzy: "he and his son Joseph killed by lightning while making hay in Sud. meadows." However, this appears incorrect: the son appears to have died in 1757 (Sudbury VRs) while the father died in late 1759 or early 1760 (probate opened 1760), so not at the same time. Further Sudbury records say that a Benjamin Muzzy was "Killed by Lightning in the Great-Meadow", presumably Joseph's son, but not until 1770.
