Letter of Saml. Johnson to Collo. Mason, 24 Sept. 1734, stating that he has left an account between "us" with Mr. Contee to whom he desires Mason to pay the balance, L 8.12.1 1/2 sterlling. Edwd. Cartlidge receipts, 28 7br [Sept.] 1734, for L 224.18.10 sterling, received from Geo. Mason, Joseph Mounts, and Abel Pearsons, for 352 pounds of tobacco.

  • 1763, Dec. 6, Va., Frederick Co., whereas Captain Thomas Swearingen is possessed of 222 acres being part of a larger tract granted to Richard Polson, Josiah Jones, and Joseph Mounts for 834 acres on 3 Oct. 1734, which said 222 acres sold by Richard Polson to Thomas Swearingen deceased, who devised it by will to Capt. Thomas Swearingen his son, also another 100 acres part of the above sold to Peter Liken who devised by will to son Jacob Liken, who sold to John Pearce, and since purchased by Thomas Swearingen the Younger, the tracts are adjoining; now resurveyed and found 286 acres and 38 acres waste land, begin at large walnut on Potomac River and near lower side of mouth of Jones Mill Run, adj.
