His death was caused by complications from gas damage to his lungs sustained during World War I.
Survived by his wife; two sons - Joe and William; his mother of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister - Mrs. B.W. DePerri, Mrs. Lera Dodson, Mrs. A.W. Nelson; Miss Ruby Morton, two brothers - David and Charles.
