Trade: Carpenter Joseph Ward Minson, second child of Thomas Minson and Catherine Ward Minson, was born in Paris, Idaho, May 2, 1869. He was blessed by Chas. E. Rich, Sr. on 21 Jun 1869. The knowledge of Joseph's education is limitied. At the time of his youth, education in Idaho was difficult. He attended grade school for some years, but was primarily a self-educated man, for which we are all very proud. His early years were spent in Paris, Idaho. He worked at every job available; such as farm work, logging, cutting ice in winter from streams and ponds and storing it in an ice house for summer use, raising chickens; in short, any occupation to make a living. Joseph was a sincere and religious boy, attending church regularly and fulfilling all requirements in the priesthood. (See notes above for dates of ordinations.) Joseph married Alice Christina Norton in the Logan Temple 26 Sep 1894. From this union ten children were born. The first move from Paris was to Malad City, Idaho, where father managed a dapartment store for Uncle John Anderson (Eliza's husband). We then moved to Brigham City, still in the employment of Uncle John, selling knitwear on the road for two years. Then we moved back to Paris and father became a builder, an occupation he followed until his death. The next move was to Bear River City, Utah, then Ogden, where most of the children finished high school. From Ogden, father and mother, with their younger children, moved to Los Angeles, California. Father's health was poor for four or five years before his death in Los Angeles, 29 Oct 1928. Interment was in Los Angeles. References
