    "Ens. Joseph3 Miller (Joseph2, Thomas1), born in Middletown, Conn., 16 Aug, 1702, probably died there after 1771. … Little has been learned about this Joseph Miller. His death is not of record, he left no will, and there is no administration of his estate. No gravestone is erected to his memory in the Middlefield, Conn., Burial Ground, although stones are extant for his wife and one daughter — perhaps he had them erected. As his wife is called just that, on her stone, and not a widow, it would seem that he died after she did."
