    Joseph MCMAHON was born in 1761 in Pa. He died in 1838 in Cincinnati,Ohio. He married Mary SCHRYHAUSER in Mar 1792 in Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania.
    - Enlisted spring/summer of 1777 at or near Pittsburgh. Served as a fifer and drummer with Captain George Rice's company, Colonel Heath's Virginia Regiment. Served at the battle of Eutaw Springs. Discharged 1781, after the surrender of Lord Cornwallis. Awarded a pension in 1838 OH. Pension record checked.
    - The soldier was allowed pension on his application executed March 19, 1838, while a resident of Adams County, Ohio. He lived for some time in Adams and Scioto Counties, Ohio.
    -This group of Snyders/McMahans migrated from PA to Adams County OH about 1820, Green twp, Sandy Springs then to Cincinnati then to Whiteside Co, IL abt. 1837.
    Joseph believed to have died in explosion of the riverboat "Moselle" 1838 Cincinnati (no record found).
