Joseph Marceau was deported in Australia in 1839 after he was found guilty of rebellion against the British Empire by a British court in Montreal. Marceau married again in Australia where he died.

Joseph Marceau had three children with Emilie Piedalue (first marriage) Emilie. She married Francois Valade at Lacadie, June 30th 1860, Zephrin. He married Lea Piedalue at Lacadie, April 23th 1879 Odilon. He married Mathilde Goyette at Saint-Athanase, May 10th 1870
