PROBATE-DEATH: Maryland Wills Book 25, page 264; Book 1, page 400; 6 May 1748; mentions he was of St. Paul's Parish in Prince George, and had wife Ann, and children Samuel, Joseph, and daughter Ann, wife of Humphrey BERRY.

IMMIGRATION: Joseph arrived in or about year 1700. Some people say he arrived as a teenager. He arrived with land grants issued by the King of England. Very soon he acquired slaves to help operate a large tobacco plantation.
