Joseph L. Laughner, 96, of East Franklin Township, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, in the KENNEDY and BLODGETT FUNERAL HOME, Kittanning, with the Rev. William Chamberlin officiating. Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington.

Joseph L. Laughner, 96, of East Franklin Township, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 11, 1916, in Emlenton, son of the late George and Kathryn (Ditzler) Laughner. He was a retired castor at Eljer Corporation in Ford City for 37 years. Mr. Laughner was a World War II Army veteran, who was twice wounded. He participated in battles at St. Lo, Hurtgen Forest, Battle of the Bulge and the Remagen Bridge. He was a member of Christ Rupp Lutheran Church and a life member of Kittanning VFW. He loved bowling. He is survived by his son, William J. Laughner (Dora), of East Franklin Township; grandsons, William J. Laughner (Sherri), of Peters Township, and Robert J. Laughner, of La Moyne; three great-grandchildren, Sydney, Payton and Sabrina; and several nieces and nephews.
