  3.   The existence of the first wife named by Cutter is based solely on the death record of an unnamed "wife of Joseph" found in Woburn VRs, p. 2:104. There is no marriage record, no children, no knowledge of her given name, etc. Joseph was b. 1730, so this death in 1752 that is proscribed for his unknown first wife would be less than a year after he would have reached legal age, and been able to marry normally. Further, there is a fairly untypically large gap until Joseph married again in 1757. Yet this death date in 1752 would fit nicely as the death date of Joshua's first wife, since he had a child in 1751 and remarried in 1753. So there is more than a little suspicion that this death record intended to say wife of Joshua... Meaning Joseph would have only had two wives...
