His will, filed at Guilford, is dated Mar. 4, 1740—four days before his death—and proven Mar. 18, 1740. He names his wife, Abigail, sons Joseph, Gideon, Josiah, Abner, and seven daughters, Eunice, wife of Nathaniel Crane; Jemima, wife of Ephraim Kelsey; Margaret, wife of Samuel Kelsey; Keziah, wife of Josiah Willcocks; Hannah, wife of Daniel Kelsey; Damaris, wife of Ebenezer Hull, and Abigail Kelsey.
