"1 Joseph1 Ingham was born say about 1630, since he married in 1655. He died at Saybrook, Connecticut, on 28 December 1710 ('Joseph Ingham, Senr': Elizebeth Bull Plimpton, ed., The Vital Records of Saybrook Colony, 1635-1860 (Old Saybrook, 1985], hereafter Saybrook Col. VR, 32). Nothing about his background or the time of his arrival in America is yet known; a reasonable conjecture would be that he came over from England at a young age with another family, perhaps as a servant."
