Joseph was born in 1676. He passed away about 1760. [1]

THE INFORMATION BELOW BELONGS WITH JOSEPH HOAG, BORN 1762 Joseph while still a young man left the Presbyterians and joined the Friends. This greatly upset the family, they tried to turn him back but his brothers, Jonathan and Benjamin joined him. It finally ended up the entire family, including his parents joined the Friends. The Journal below was written by Joseph Hoag, born 1762.

Text: Strong sources including US Quaker Cemetery records from Ferrisburg, Vermont and Findagrave prove that Joseph, the Quaker Prophet was born in 1762 and was the son of Elijah and Phebe Hoag. The link to the Journal also states that Joseph was the son of Elijah and Phebe Hoag.Joseph Hoag, born 1762, son of Elijah and Phebe Hoag,and was the author of the Journal and considered to be a Quaker Prophet.
