   Joseph served in the 3rd VA regiment in the American Revolution.

was born in Augusta County VA April 3, 1772 and died July 31, 1837. He married Hanna Mcclung June 16, 1803. Hanna, a daughter of John II and Sarah (McCutcheon) McClung, was born in Bath County VA June 24, 1773 and died about 1844.
