Mary Rita was born Oct. 20, 1922, in Youngstown, a daughter of Joseph M. and Wilma Gaj Fabry. Mary Rita worked as a secretary for the Diocese of Youngstown for 25 years. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Infant Jesus of Prague Guild, and was a pierogi worker.
Mary Rita leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Susan (Tom) Rudnicki of Poland and Joseph M. Martinko Jr. of Boardman; her grandchildren, Dr. Thomas J. (Amanda) Rudnicki and Catharine (Matthew) Rudawsky; a great-granddaughter, Alexandra Rudawsky; and a sister, Theresa (John) Kern of Struthers.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph M. Martinko Sr., whom she married May 21, 1949, and who passed away Sept. 28, 1988; and two brothers, Joseph A. and Bernard T. Fabry.

Joseph Anthony Fabry Birth: 17 Dec 1924 Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio, USA Death: 16 Feb 2014 (aged 89) Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio, USA Memorial #: 125289889 Bio: POLAND – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church with Father Martin Celuch officiating for Joseph Anthony Fabry, 89, who went to be with the Lord on Feb. 16, 2014.
Joseph was born Dec. 17, 1924, in Youngstown, a son of the late Joseph Michael Fabry and Wilma Gaj Fabry.
Joseph was a life-long member of St. Cyril and Methodius Church, where he attended school and also served as an altar boy. He graduated from South High School and later studied Accounting at Youngstown College.
Joseph was 18 years old when he began working for Thomas Barrowman Wholesale Jewelry and worked there for over 50 years as an office manager, until his retirement.
Joseph was proud of his military service to our country, having served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 until 1946 as a Yeoman 2nd Class. His troop ship, the USS Mifflin landed marines in the first wave of the Battle of Iwo Jima and participated in the invasion of Okinawa.
He belonged to the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association Branch 30, Catholic War Veterans Post 1222, and the American Legion Post 0888.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his sisters, Mary Rita Martinko of Boardman and Theresa (John) Kern of Struthers; a brother, Bernard T. Fabry of Poland; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, where full military honors will be rendered.
