Bio: BOARDMAN — Mary Rita Martinko, 97, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020, at the Assumption Village.
Mary Rita was born Oct. 20, 1922, in Youngstown, a daughter of Joseph M. and Wilma Gaj Fabry. Mary Rita worked as a secretary for the Diocese of Youngstown for 25 years. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Infant Jesus of Prague Guild, and was a pierogi worker.
Mary Rita leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Susan (Tom) Rudnicki of Poland and Joseph M. Martinko Jr. of Boardman; her grandchildren, Dr. Thomas J. (Amanda) Rudnicki and Catharine (Matthew) Rudawsky; a great-granddaughter, Alexandra Rudawsky; and a sister, Theresa (John) Kern of Struthers.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph M. Martinko Sr., whom she married May 21, 1949, and who passed away Sept. 28, 1988; and two brothers, Joseph A. and Bernard T. Fabry.
Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.

Bio: POLAND – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 3, 2015, at 1 p.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, with Fr. Martin Celuch and Fr. Regis Herschel officiating, for Bernard T. Fabry, 85, who passed away Monday, June 29, 2015.
Bernard was born Aug. 27, 1929, in Youngstown, a son of Joseph and Wilma (Gaj) Fabry.
He was a 1947 graduate of Ursuline High School. Bernard served in the U.S. Army and was proud of his military service during the Korean War. He worked for Republic Steel and retired from Chase Bank.
He was a lifelong member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, where he attended school and also served as an altar boy. Bernard was also a member of St. Dominic Parish, where he attended Mass daily. He was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association Branch 30, Rosary Cenacle at St. Dominic, Third Order of St. Francis and Catholic War Veteran’s Post 1222.
He will be sadly missed by his sisters, Mary Rita Martinko of Boardman and Theresa (John) Kern of Struthers; and many nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Fabry.
Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
