There is a Joseph Daigle, age 70, born LA listed in the 1850 St. Landry Parish, LA census, enumerated Nov. 4th, Dwelling 1472, Household 1706. With Josephine, age 55, born LA; Julie, age 18, born LA; Arelie, age 16, born LA; Elisa, age 12, born LA; Celeste, age 10, born LA. There are checks next to Joseph and Josephine in the column for "Attended school within the year," but I think it might mean they were married within the year. Could also be that they can't read or write...maybe this is our Joseph?
