    In the Articles of Agreement concerning the Antietam Iron Works, recorded Oct 31st, 1765, the partners mentioned are Samuel Beall, Jr, David Ross and Richard Henderson.Col. Joseph Chapline owned 12,257 1/2 acres of land.Part of it had a deposit of copper.In 1768, he deeded land to Abraham Lingenfelder for the site of the old German Reformed burial ground of Sharpsbufg, MD, as a gift.
