In the 1871 Census, Joseph is living in Tanfield, with his wife Susannah Beer, b. abt 1836, and his son (I believe from his first marriage to Jane), who is now 21 years of age and also a coal miner. LIving with them, as listed in the census are: Mary G. Blatchford, - daughter-in-law age 14, William Blatchford, son in law, 11 and Louisa Blatchford, daughter in-law, age 6. Hi wife, Susannah is 35 years of age. I believe these are her children from a previous marriage, not in-laws. FURTHER CHECKING REQUIRED
