- ↑ 3.0 3.1 The birth and baptisms are reported as found. The Cambridge records also include the marriage of Isaac Powers and Mary Winship on 14 Apr 1701 (also recorded in Concord), and the birth of elder brother Isaac on 26 Aug 1701. As cited, Isaac's baptism is nearly a year later, but there is no indication the year is wrong, since changing the birth to 1702, or changing the baptism to 1701, would create inconsistent data. One might suppose, since Isaac's birth apparently came only 4 months after the marriage, that the mother had to reconcile with the church, delaying Isaac's baptism. Be that as it may, this is all to suggests that Isaac's birth is correct and in 1701, not 1702. This makes a birth for Jonathan in Feb 1702/03 possible, being 18 months after Isaac's birth. On the other hand the birth as written is only 13 months before Lucy in Mar 1705. Suggesting that if either the birth or baptism is wrong, it is probably the birth, on the basis that the year recorded in the baptism gives a more regular and typical spacing of sibling births, namely Isaac 1701, Jonathan 1703, Lucy 1705, Gideon 1707 and Hannah 1709.
