BIRTH: MARRIAGE: DEATH: Jonathan was one of the pioneer settlers of the Maumee Valley; he removed to Manhattan (now Toledo) OH, in 1836, taking with him his nephew George Lundy Gibbs. He returned to Johnsonburg, NJ in 1840, disposed of his property interests in the Quaker settlement, and married on his way back to Ohio. He was prominent in the construction of the Wabash & erie Canal, and was interested in a line of packets that ran upon it..
