According to Stiles page 297-298 Jonathan was in the Revolutionary War and was captured in the battle of Long Island 1776 by the British and held prisoner for two years. Due to his health he was released to his home. Lieutenant, CT. 8th regt with Col Huntington and 6th Co, with Capt Rowlee.
