Facts and Events
John is the second-named son in his father's will (Robert being already dead). According to Campling Womack of Mautby pedigree, he married twice - Ann Steward 1677, and Mary Bayes 1698; one son, John (rector of Manby, Lincs). Will (1717) of Mary Womack, widow of John, confirms South Lopham residence and among named beneficiaries is cousin "Katherine Womack, daughter of Margaret Womack of North Lopham", which corresponds with the close connection with John's nephew Edmund, though "cousin" isn't the correct relationship. Research has also found a John Womack married to a Sarah, with children (2 + 4 thought to be the same couple) baptised in Shelfanger and Bressingham which could perhaps be this John. Name mostly becomes Womack by early 1700s. 1654 - Baptism register records his date of birth but not the date of his baptism. 1683 - Along with brother Lawrence, John received an equal share of his father's assets. 1706 - John is named as an executor of his nephew Edmund's will. 1713 - Recorded in burial register as Johannes Womack sen. 1716/17 - There is an inventory of goods, etc. of John Womock, wheelwright of South Lopham, taken 14 May, totalling 388 ponds 12 shillings 4 pence. It has not yet been confirmed that this is the same John Womock. References
