    1941.

"The Wattersons", pioneer Scots family, landed Wellington, 17th March 1841, from "Lady Nugent"
The Watterson family name was changed to Waterson.
"At the time of taking over the Silverstream property, John Watterson, Senr., in signing his name, omitted one "T". This led to so much trouble at law that his solicitor, Mr. Hilderbrand, made him register his name with one "T" (adding the proviso sometimes spelt with two "Ts'). This is not generally known by the descendants, only one "T" being now used by most of them."
