Some sources indicate John was second born. Others, and his fathers will, indicate he may have been the third born. Most sources indicate that John Jr had two children, Henry and Henneretta who filled his inventory. However, the land records BC 4, L 586 clarify the situation an state that "William Hull and Henneretta his wife of Kent County State of Maryland, formerly the wife of John Wallis (son of John) deceased of Kent County, state aforesaid, farmer, and ___ her former husband in his lifetime was possessed of a tract of land called Partnership containing 300 acres or their abouts. He died leaving no children. Whereas Francis Wallis half brother of said John Wallis deceased being the next of kin became possessed of two thirds of aforesaid tract of land and dying leaving but one son, John Wallis who is just of age, and now in possession of aforesaid two thirds of said tract of land know ye that we the aforesaid William Hull and Henneretta (sic) his wife for and inconsideration of the sum of two hundred pounds current money of Maryland to us paid in hand by the aforesaid John Wallis (son and heir of Francis Wallis) deceased... sell "all the remainding one third part of the tract of land being the right of dower of the said Henneretta wife of the said William Hull." The land transfer was dated 20 Dec 1796 and witnessed by William Thomas Maxwell. References
