    John Upshaw, born in Essex, July 21, 1715, died there, July 23, 1801. He married Mary Lafon, born in Essex, 1744, died 1807. She was a daughter of Nichoals Lafon, said to have been of Huguenot decent, who died in Essex before March 20, 1749.
