p 167 - KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I ELLIOTT MONROE of Parish of Dettingen in County of Prince William in consideration of the natural love and affection which I bear unto my Father in Law, JOHN TYLER and MARGARET, his Wife, and also for divers other good causes have granted unto JOHN TYLER and MARGARET his Wife all the slaves hereafter named and expressed Vizt. Phillip, Jack, Nann & Cesar, To have and to hold and enjoy the said Negro slaves aforesaid to the only proper use and behoof of said JOHN TYLER and MARGARET his Wife their heirs and assigns forever of which Negro slaves above mentioned I have put JOHN TYLER and MARGARET his Wife in possession by delivering to them Negro Nann, one of the slaves above mentioned, at the time of the sealing and delivery In Witness whereof I have set my hand and Seal this Twenty fourth day of November 1769 in presence of JOHN BRETT, ELLIOTT MONROE MARY TEBBS, HENRY PEYTON, J, EDWARD PEARSON At a Court held for Prince William County the 7th day of May 1770 This Deed was acknowledged by the said MONROE and is admitted to record.

p 168 - KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I ELLIOT MONROE of Parish of Dettingen in County of Prince William have released and for ever quit claimed and do for me my hears release unto JOHN TYLER of the Parish and County aforesaid his heirs all manner of actions suits bills bonds debts accounts sums of money Judgments quarrels trespasses damages and demands whatsoever both at Law and Equity which against him the said JOHN TYLER I ever had now have or which I my heirs may have by reason or means of any Act cause or thing from the beginning of the world to the day of the date of these presents, In Witness whereof I have set my hand and Seal this Twenty fourth day of November 1769 in presence of JOHN BRETT, ELLIOTT MONROE HENRY PEYTON, J. EDWARD PEARSON At a Court held for Prince William County the 7th day of May 1770 This Release from ELLIOTT MONROE to JOHN TYLER and MARGARET his Wife was acknowledged by said MONROE and is admitted to record.

1763-1767 Prince William County, Virginia Deed Book Q; Part 1 [Antient Press]: Page 457-458 KNOW ALL MEN by these'presents that I JOHN TYLER of County of Prince William for sum of Fifty three pounds of good and lawfull money of Virginia paid by ELIZABETH TYLER of the aforesaid County have in plain and open Market according to Law do deliver unto ELIZABETH TYLER two Negroes named Robin and Jane, Three feather beds and furniture, To have and to hold unto ELIZABETH TYLER her heirs and assigns forever, Provided Nevertheless that if I said JOHN TYLER do well and truly pay unto ELIZABETH TYLER the sum of Fifty three pounds on the Twenty fifth day of December next ensuing for the Redemption of the said Bargained premises then this present writing to be void or else to stand in full force In Witness whereof I have set my hand and Scale this twelfth day of January 1767 in presence of JOSEPH TYLER, JOHN TYLER WILLIAM TYLER At a Court held for Prince William County the 6th day of April 1767 This Deed of Sale was proved by the oaths of JOSEPH TYLER and WILLIAM TYLER the witnesses subscribed to be the act and deed of said JOHN and was on motion of said ELIZABETH admitted to record
