"Treadwell, John, s. of Samuel. Born at Fairfield, 11 Feb. 1674/5, d. at Stratfield in 1716; … Adm’n granted, 1 Feb. 1715/6, to Dea. Thomas Hawley of Stratfield with the widow Abigail. Inv. presented 2 May 1716; dates of birth of the surviving children stated. In 1721 the sons John and Hezekiah chose Mr. Joseph Booth of Stratfield for guardian; and the Court appointed Mr. Thomas Hawley guardian for Ephraim and Jabez. Ephraim chose Joseph Booth for guardian, 27 July 1728. Hezekiah Treadwell of Stratford and Ephraim Treadwell of Farmington conveyed, 20 May 1740, right in Newtown common land which descended to them from father John of Stratfield dec’d. [Newtown Deeds.]"
