The Timbrook family settled on Grassy Lick Run near the present day Kirby (West Virginia) community.

The John Timbrook Bible says May 12, 1760. The John Timbrook family bible information showed up in a Bible Prize Contest held in Ohio in 1937.

His wife is referred to as Widow Timbrook on William's land record recorded June 08, 1824. He is a witness to the sale of land from Daniel Lane to Jesse Edwards; 200 acres on Branch Mt. recorded February 19, 1797. The same place William bought the land that was next to Widow Timbrook. He is listed on the tax roles in 1794, where he is paying for one male over 21, 1796 he is paying for two males and 1797, he is paying for two males. John is listed as the only adult male Timbrook in Hampshire County in the 1810 Census, the first census that can be checked. He was found to have one son 0-10 years old, one son 10-16 years old, one son 16-26 years, a daughter who is 0-10 years. He is listed as 26 -45 years of age and Elizabeth who is 26-45.
