    Capt. Pike M. Thomson, P. O., Slater. Is the son of Capt. John and Ann Thomson, and was born in Fayette county, Kentucky, August 25, 1819. His grandfather was a revolutionary soldier, and his father in Gen. Jackson’s army, at the battle of New Orleans, in 1815. His maternal grandfather was a revolutionary soldier, and was with Daniel Boone at the battle of Bryant’s Station, Kentucky. Soon after his birth, Capt. Pike Thomson was brought by his parents to Saline county, Missouri, where they settled in 1819. His father died, and his mother returned to Kentucky, where she is now living, at the age of eighty-three. ...
