John Thompson, Jr., b. April 1744 at New London, Virginia, m. Ursula Jones, m. Lydia Quinn, 9 October 1800 at Bedford, Virginia, d. 8 April 1830 at New London, Virginia John, Jr. bought and sold farms and owned many thousands of acres of land in Central Virginia. He was a Quaker.

David and his wife Mary, along with several of their children moved to Carrol County, Missouri around 1838. He left his estate at New London, VA to be inherited by his son Alexander when he reached the proper age. He was a Quaker.
