Will
In his will, made on 1 Nov 1626, John made the following bequests:
- that his brothers-in-law William SPENCER and Henry FREEMAN sell all his property and land at Woodford and the proceeds shared equally between all his children except his son Thomas on their 21st birthday or wedding day whichever occurred first
- that his wife continue to receive the income from his estate at Saxby, Leics, which was held by Richard TRIST and Thomas FREEMAN, until his son Thomas' 21st birthday when the lease should be used to raise £100 to be shared between his children, except his son Thomas
[1]
- the remaining income from the lease of his land at Saxby should then be for his son Thomas
- the residue to be shared between his wife and her brother Thomas FREEMAN
- that his brother-in-law Thomas FREEMAN be sole executor of his estate
