  1.   The burial of this John Thacker of Gratwich has not been located in Gratwich, or elsewhere in Staffordshire. Since his grandson Samuel and family later migrated to Leicestershire, we should consider it possible that this man is to be identified with the man buried in Burbage, near Hinckley, Leicestershire on 11 March 1744/5 and described in the Bishops' Transcripts as "John Thacker Sojourner", a description of a person temporarily resident there.
