John Stirling (b.2oct1752 Glasgow (william davidson website) (clanstirling website)-d.1811 Glasgow) was son of William Stirling (28jul1717-1777) and Mary Buchanan of Drumpellier (d. 25 dec 1806). William Stirling, christened 29jul1717, died 1777, feued Cordale in the Vale of Leven and founded the well known dyeing business. He married Mary Buchanan of Drumpelier ("Provosts of Glasgow" by James R. Anderson). William died 3may1777 (W. Davidson website). John Stirling married Janet Bogle (on 1sep1774, Glasgow, latter day saints, member submission). John Sterling married Janet Bogle jul1774, Glasgow (IGI). John Stirling (1751-1811) worked for his father’s firm “William Stirling and Sons”, Glasgow, calico printers. John lived in Cunninghame’s mansion (later the Glasgow Royal Exchange), which had been bought by William Stirling and Sons in 1789. Father of John: References
