Identity of Wife of John Steele

Some researchers have placed an Elizabeth Green as the wife of John Steele, based upon the Tennessee Death & Burial Record of their youngest son Robert Lee Steele, but this conflicts with the Tennessee Death Records of two other sons, Allen Asbury Steele and James Benjamin Steele, who both named their mother as Elizabeth "Betsie" Thomas.
