Met Mary when he was going to college on the GI Bill and never returned to the Rochester area to live. He and Mary were married in her home church and a reception followed. Then the two of them got in the car with his mother, brother, and his cousin, Rose Mary, to drive back to Henrietta. What a honeymoon that was -- to be in a car (five people) on a trip to his mother's home. There was a reception for them held in the potato barn. It was quite a lovely event and everyone here in the Rochester area was able to celebrate their marriage with them. John's address during his service in the Pacific arena was: Sgt. John L.
