    JOHN SPUFFORD (William) of Toddington, Bedfordshire,
    was born probably about 1510, presumably at Toddington.
    Other than the records of baptisms of his children,
    there is no other record of him. He left no will, which suggests
    that he died suddenly, probably 1553 to 1558, that is, after
    the baptism of his last known child and before the burial
    records start
