Daily Times-News, The Wednesday, May 18, 1977 JOHN Colon SPOON, 61, of Rt. 6, Burlington, died Tuesday at p.m. in Alamance County Hospital following three days of critical illness. A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs.. Lucille Isley SPOON, who survives of the home. Mr. SPOON was a retired employee of R. R. Stout Construction Company. He was a custodian at Friendship United Methodist Church and a member of the same church. He was the son of the late Claude and Daisy Alexander SPOON. Surviving other than Mrs.. SPOON is a daughter, Miss Juanita SPOON of Greensboro: son. Dan SPOON of Greensboro; sister. Mrs.- Gladys Patton of Lake Waccamaw; brothers. Harold SPOON and M. C. SPOON, both of Burlington. Final rites will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in Friendship United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eddie Walker and the Rev. George Davis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 tonight at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington. The body will remain at Rich and Thompson until placed in the church to lie in state for 30 minutes prior to services.
