CENSUS

1900 Allen Co. INJohn Sordelet and his wife, Emms, were living with John parents, Jacob and Armonce Sordelet in 1900. John was born in Dec of 1873 and was working as a farmer. Emma was born in June of 1880. Both John and Emma's parents were born in France.

1910 Allen Co. INJohn was living on May Rd. in Jefferson Twp. He was age 36 and had been married 9 years. He was a farmer. Emma, age 29, was married 9 years. Blanche M., daughter, was age 8. Francis E., son, was age 10 months. Leonard J., son, was age 3. Louis N., son, was age 9. Mary H., daughter, was age 6.

1920 Allen Co. INJohn was age 46 and was working in a grocery store. His wife, Emma J., was age 40. Edward J., son, was age 8. Francis E., son, age 11. Leonard J., son, age 13. Mary H., daughter, age 15. Norbert J., son, age 21/2. Clara was not enumerated.

OBITUARY John B. Sordelet, 73, of 2901 Schele Avenue, died at 12:20 a.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Hospital where he had been a patient for the past month. He had been in failing health for the past three years. A native of New Haven, Mr. Sordelet was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, its Holy Name Society, and the Lafayette Legion. Survivors include his wife, Emma; three daughters, Mrs. Charles Chevillot and Mrs. Floyd Lash, both of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Gerald Bower, Princeton, N.J.; five sons, Louis, Leonard, Edward, and Norbert, all of Fort Wayne, and Francis of Zanesville, O.; a brother, Edward H. Sordelet, Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Ankenbruck-Imler Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be hild at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, and at 9 a.m. in St. Andrew's Catholic Church, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry Hoerstman officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery. The Holy Name Society will meet at 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
