[edit] Will of John SnoddyLast Will and Testament of John Snoddy In the Name of God Amen. I, John Snoddy of Madison County and State of Alabama, being mindful of my mortality, do this seventeenth day of August in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and twenty nine, make and publish, this my Last Will and Testament in manner following to wit, I give and bequeath to my Brother Nathaniel D. Snoddy his heirs executors administrators and assigns two negro men to wit - Randall aged about twenty eight years and Jordan aged about twenty five years. I also give and bequeath to my said Brother Nathaniel D. Snoddy his heirs executors, administrators and assigns, all the rest ad residue of my personal Estate whatsoever and whosoever, of what nature, kind and quality soever the same may be (after payment of all my just and lawful debts, death bed and funeral expenses) and I do hereby constitute and appoint my said Brother Nathaniel D. Snoddy, sole Executor of this my last will and Testament -- In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written-- John Snoddy Signed, sealed, published and declared, as and for this last will and Testament in our presence who at his request, in his presence have subscribed our names and witness thereto.
