  6. While the Ancestral File gives a birth date and says he was "of New Haven", he does not appear to originate in New Haven. Other sources give his birth place as Sandwich, Mass. However, I have been unable to find a VR, a book or a journal article that provides his birth date or place. UPDATE The 1946 Slason/Slauson/Slawson/Slosson genealogy (p. 12) states that he was born at Sandwich, Mass., on 14 May 1641, a date which is consistent with his subsequent life. However, this genealogy is not sourced, and the birth does not appear in the published Sandwich vital records. This date and place of birth, therefore, should not be considered to have been satisfactorily documented.
